Based on our idyllic location both in a park and next to many important Maputo sites, the Livro Aberto Library makes a great place to visit and to spend a day!

Livro Aberto customizes library visits, trainings, volunteer experiences and events in the garden to meet your objectives and your group's needs. To date we have created unique opportunities for nonprofit organizations, companies, families, school groups, orphanages, private groups, teen volunteer experiences, classes, adult functions, international groups, and more!

 

Livro Aberto has several facility options available (i.e., library, verandas, Tchivirika Buku Technology Center, classroom, amphitheatre, and garden); as well as resources... tables, chairs, shade, toys, books, educational resources, WIFI, computers, staff, and more!

A few ideas... (just to get you thinking of how Livro Aberto can benefit you/your organization!)

• Literacy in the Park activities (i.e., storytelling, theatre, puppetry, story writing, poetry, and ... art & literacy activities).

• Children's Sleepovers in the library... and under the stars! A private & secure garden!

• Corporate Events, Team Building and/or Community Service Opportunities

• Cultural Interactions and Volunteer Experiences for youth and/or adults.

• Spend a birthday party with friends with garden facilities, library, and Livro Aberto's creative activities for children!

• Trainings (i.e., Community Literacy Programs, ECD and developmental programs for children, literacy skills instruction, technology, English, library systems and management, etc.) The Livro Aberto team offers a wealth of experience and knowledge!

• Fairs in the garden (To date, Livro Aberto has organized Halloween Fairs, Environmental Fairs, Children's Day Fairs, Book Fairs, Vendor Fairs, and more!)

• Music in the Garden... you bring the music and we'll organize the event for children, families, and/or adults. We'll supply children's activities and fun!

• Garden parties ...from a garden tea or cocktails to special tastings, a unique outdoor Maputo experience!

Our services are free for orphanages, associations, and public schools... simply pre-book and help us collect recycled materials to use for your activities. For all other groups, Livro Aberto asks for a donation towards our community projects and to cover our costs for your event.
